July 15th, 2009 About This Site and Me
![]() Hello, I am Kristine |
I am a former computer programmer who has chosen to leave the world of the traveling consultant. Now I own an at-home business which is far more exciting than programming and which forms the basis for this blog.
I am a native of Arizona and, in fact, I spent my early years at the edge of the Navajo Reservation and some of the Native American respect for the natural world must have rubbed off on me. I left the desert for a while and lived in the D.C. area but I never really went very far from the Southwest in my heart. Even today I make sure that all water taps are tightly turned off and that I am not using any chemicals that will leave a harmful mark around me. After several years in Virginia, I “went on the road” for over 15 years as a software consultant but I have returned to the Arizona Desert now and will never leave home again. Each morning, as I and my husband have breakfast, I look out over miles of desert valley in the background with dozens of feeding birds in the foreground and we are happy.
I have left the world of big business and bigger cities behind me but I have kept the mindset of the consultant. In that regard I feel very strongly that my purpose in this blog and in my life is to share what I know about living well in a healthy and ecologically safe home environment. I cannot change the global environment very easily, but I can show others how to change their own immediate surroundings into a more healthy and safe “small world after all”.
I have a two-pronged approach in my mission with this blog. On the one hand I will give a great many tips and techniques to improve your immediate world. However, I will also talk about setting all this into your own at-home business since good news like this needs to be shared.

You will see this link and others like it often. They will all take you to my other, more comprehensive sites. You won’t want to miss them.
So, if you are living alone; read on. If you are just starting your adult life, read on. If you are a teen and want to help your parents, read on. Most of all, if you have a young family and a home, please read on.
Like all blogs, this one is written in the context of time. However, I wanted to make it as user-friendly as I could and so I built the green tabs at the top of each page as topical navigation tabs. Please use and enjoy them.
